SpaceX Successful With Air Force's X-37B Spaceplane Launch

SpaceX was successful with its launch of the Air Force's X-37B spaceplane earlier today and it also recovered its first stage booster. It launched the experimental craft from the Kennedy Space Center just ahead of Hurricane Irma's arrival.

This launch has only ever been accomplished by United Launch Alliance in the past. With SpaceX's success, it's more likely to receive additional defense contracts moving forward.

We don't know much about the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle's mission. It's going to carry out some experiments, though no specifics have been mentioned. It was previously orbiting Earth for a period of two years before returning in May 2017.
