Twitter is going to become much more transparent with advertisements on its platform in the wake of Russia's interference in the last US election via ads on social media sites. The company's new Advertising Transparency Center will let users see all of the ads running on the site, who they're from, how long they've been running, and if they're targeted at you.
Users are then given the ability to report any advertisement they believe is problematic or they can just share a negative opinion of it.
Politics ads are going to be redesigned so that they're attributed to a "political account" in feeds. And there will be a political ad-centric spot in the transparency center containing info about who the ads are targeting and how much the advertiser has spent.
