A Microsoft Surface Pro with support for LTE Advanced will become available later this year. Microsoft has confirmed it'll offer that model to business customers beginning in December. It'll use a Cat 9 modem, making the Surface Pro the fastest LTE-enabled laptop in its class.
It says the availability of this option will help improve mobility in the Surface Pro lineup and will enhance the mobility of workers. This is important, says Microsoft, because "half of the global workforce will be mobile by 2020."
How LTE support changes the laptop's battery life isn't clear.
