Facial recognition technology is slowly becoming a new standard. It is currently available only on flagship smartphones and companies still need to improve it a lot, especially in terms of security, but the technology will slowly make its ways to mid-range models as well.
Meizu executive Ard Boudeling has now announced that they have partnered with MediaTek for the development of facial recognition technology. The goal is to develop a facial recognition system that can compete with Apple's Face ID. There is no information when the technology is going to be released except for next year.
