Call of Duty: WW2 appears to be off to a good start in the UK, with Chart-Track reporting the game has seen 57% more launch sales than 2016's Infinite Warfare. The space-based Infinite Warfare wasn't received particularly well, even by long-standing fans of the franchise.
WW2 brings the series back to the sort of war game many people like, making the higher sales a predictable result.
Because Infinite Warfare's sales were down 48% from 2015's Black Ops 3, WW2 is probably just below that title for launch performance, though Chart-Track only has data on physical sales. Digital downloads, which have increased in recent years, could be helping WW2.
