Twitter has apologized to users for a bug that led to an absence of search results for terms like "bisexual." It says an error was discovered with its search results system that led to photo and search results being blocked for affected terms. Because of the terms involved, it appears posts were inaccurately treated as sensitive content.
In response, the social network has adjusted its list of terms and is implementing other changes to fix the problem.
This bug isn't "consistent with our values as a company," says Twitter.
Some users were particularly displeased with this issue because sexuality-related terms were blocked while terms like "Nazi" weren't.
