GameStop was close to running out of the Xbox One X after just one day. SVP of merchandising Bob Puzon says the retailer "sold through most of [its] initial allotment" of consoles on the first day of availability. It's working with Microsoft to receive more units.
It didn't mention exactly how many consoles were sold, instead opting just to confirm it was close to selling out. Depending on demand estimates, GameStop could have initially received a relatively small supply. We could learn more about the company's sales with its earnings report on November 21.
The retailer is still selling the system for $500, but in-store availability varies.
