The Crisis Response Hub on Facebook has received an update that makes it easier for visitors to donate when a disaster, natural or otherwise, occurs. Each crisis page features a donate option at the top of the display. Facebook won't charge any fees for donations made through this feature.
It's working with GlobalGiving, a nonprofit, on the capability. GlobalGiving amasses donations and sends funds to local groups capable of helping people during crises. Channeling the funds through a group like GlobalGiving makes it easier for donations to be quickly collected from the public.
